Phones, Laptops, TVs, Smart Speakers, iMacs, Washing Machines, Refrigerators, etc. I could go on and on, but I don’t wouldn’t like to waste your precious topic. Technology, well, it’s a very vast topic, but at the same time, I think it's maybe the most important part of society. Technology can be defined in 3 ways, which are:

1. ‘The application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry.’

2. ‘Machinery and equipment developed from the application of scientific knowledge.’

3. ‘The branch of knowledge dealing with engineering or applied sciences.’

Technology is something that affects our day-to-day life. We’re practically SURROUNDED by technology. Technology is maybe the only fragment of society that has continuously been developed and maybe till humanity itself ceases to exist. From the small flip-phones that were being used in the 2000s to smartphones with maybe everything, we could expect from them. I think technology might be the most interesting for someone to research because its development will just never stop. Let’s look at some of the new ‘trends’ going on in technology:

1. Development of AI (like Major Development).

2. Increased demand for faster computing processing power.

3. Commercialization of quantum computing usage in mass scale.

4. Evolution of aerospace technologies.

5. A new era of the internet — deployment of 5G and Starlink broadband internet technology.

6. Evolution of health care — predictions at the genome level.

Now, that we have got a basic understanding of technology, let’s look at the pros and cons of technology (something teenagers and parents might argue about every day). I think let’s start with the pros, shall we:

1. Improves communications for businesses.

2. Saves time in daily tasks

3. Better Communication

4. Reduces Cybercrime risks

5. It allows us to experience new cultures

6. Contributes a lot to local, domestic and global economies.

7. Research is becoming simpler by the day

8. Provides us with deeper insights

9. It allows us to stay connected with friends/family/loved ones (the only thing teenagers and parents argue over almost every day).

10. Helps in Surgeries.

So these were some of the most important pros of technology, according to me. But since technology that is still argued upon by many experts, let’s look at why it has become a controversial topic:

1. Extreme dependability

2. Expensive to manufacture and henceforth, purchase

3. Increases unemployment rates

4. Minor malfunctions can cause great damage

5. Its Military development has led to the creation of weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear, atom and hydrogen bombs.

6. It can hurt the environment

7. It can create health problems

8. Has created a lack of privacy, to a certain extent

So I think all of us have got a basic idea of the pros and cons of Technology. I didn’t write this Article as a means of sharing my views, but I just wanted all of you to know its pros and cons, to limit its usage as per your requirements.
