COVID-19

Corona Virus, also known as COVID-19, is a virus, which is said to have been originated from Wuhan. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with unwell people.

So, I think that all of you have a brief idea of what Corona Virus is and I hope all of you are taking the necessary precautions.

Now, many of my friends have self-quarantined themselves (myself included). Therefore, I wanted to write this so that I can share some ideas with all of you about what to do at this time that you have. I, as an individual, have tried to keep myself busy by pursuing my interests. Hence, I designed this website and I regularly post articles on it. That’s something that takes up a lot of my time. Also, I like to keep in touch with my friends, by texting and video calls.

As a family, we like to do a lot of things together. We play board games, watch movies, and talk about the most random things. We also have weekly debates, where I, my dad, and my sister debate on different topics and my mom is the judge. Another thing we like to do is have a MUN in our house. I became the Chairperson of the committee, and also play the role of a delegate, with my other family members representing countries of their choice.

MUN is something all of you should do at least once in your life, and this is the perfect way to get a little exposure. I recommend it highly because this is a great way to understand world problems and become good global citizens. However, I recommend this only for families with 4 members or more. If you guys would like some suggestions for agendas or committee procedures, do let me know.

Other than that, I do a little gaming (mainly FIFA), watch cartoons and play music on my Echo Studio. Another thing I like doing is watching documentaries with my dad. This is fun for me because I simply love knowing about different kinds of stuff, and I recommend you all, as well, to watch some documentaries, so that you can increase your general knowledge.

Another interesting we, as a family, have done is that we have given all the house help paid leave for one week so that they can spend some time with their families. And as we all know, we all depend very much on the house help for the daily functioning of the house. To ensure the smooth functioning of the house, we have divided the work of the house amongst us. My mom will dry and fold all the clothes. My dad will take care of cooking food for all of us. My sister will take care of mopping the house, and I will wash all the dishes. I think this will be a really fun experiment as this will teach us to appreciate the work that the house help does for all of us, along with teaching me responsibility.

So, this basically what I’m going to do until this pandemic pass. After that, football and going to my friend’s apartment will be my main time-consuming work.
